Tom is a typical young person, he went through school and at the end he didn’t attain the grades that he was hoping for. He didn’t know what to do next, he managed to get himself a few odd jobs, although he knew this was not going to give him the a career path he wanted. He had no confidence or experience and didn’t know what to do; he wanted to find something that would give him purpose and a future. He came across the Fair Oak Job Club where Sheena and her team were able to give him some guidance, i.e. interview training and CV preparation. He was pointed in the direction of Colin Walters (Managing Director) MJM Data Capture Ltd. For the purposes of giving Tom some interview experience and direction (Colin is known to be upfront and honest with his advice). After going through the process with Tom, Colin thought that he would like to assist Tom further and offered him an apprenticeship in administration, where Colin would be able to mentor him further and help him to achieve his ambitions. Tom is currently in his second year, he is a transformed person, and he has a greater level of confidence, has successfully completed his first year and attained his NVQ level 2 and is now working towards his level 3 at Southampton City College.
